Temporary residence permit in the Russian Federation for the period of study

From January 1, 2023, foreign citizens who are full-time in-person students will be able to obtain a temporary residence permit in Russia for the period of study (RVPO) regardless of allocated quotas. 

РВПО will allow foreign students to acquire the Temporarily Residence Status in the Russian Federation during their studies. RVPO is valid for 3 years.

Additionally, after completing 3 years of study, a foreign citizen with a Temporary Residence Permit will be able to apply for a Residence Permit in Russia, bypassing the need to obtain a Temporary Residence Permit and regardless of the color of the diploma (grades).
